Asshat drivers need to learn how to use blinkers. Also: red means STOP, you idiot.
On my way back from lunch today I noticed a woman, driving a white Ford Taurus, not using her blinker. Sadly, this isn't an unusual occurnece but what I found surprising is she was using hand signals in place of her blinkers! Before she would make a turn she would point in the direction she intended to go. I was only able to see this as I was drivign directly behind her. Had I been on her passenger side, or I suspect more than one car length back, I would not have seen her hand gesture at all.
Simply astonishing. Why wouldn't she turn on her blinker? IS it broken? If so, get it fixed! Pointing doesn't do much good. Especially when it simply looks like you're flicking a cigarette out the window. Now, inthis woman's defense: she was at least making some attempt to signal her turn. Pathetic as that attempt may have been I suppose it is better than making no turn signal at all.
A bit of advice: turning your blinker on once you've already entered an intersection and started a turn is absolutely meaningless. Your're already turning, the reason the blinker is also know as a turn signal is because it supposed to be used to indicate your intent/desire to make a trun or change lanes.
If you're going to turn a corner, put your blinker on before you get to the corner so the people in in front of, behind, or next to you know what you are doing.
Need to change lanes? Turn on your blinker. Other drivers will see what you are trying to do and will be more likely to give you room to make the switch. And if they don't, at least you're not an asshole for cutting them off without any warning.
Sadly, the lack of blinker use seems to a problem regardless of where I drive. Lincolnites seem to have a real problem with running red lights. Especially on turn signals. I don't have time to fully get into my disgust for this habit right now, so I will simply say this, "If the left turn arrow is red, don't make the turn you fucking asshole." Red means STOP. Most people had that figured out before they were even able to read. keep running those lights and one of these days you're likely to get T-boned by somebody trying to obey the stoplight. That is all for now.

My my how you have mellowed my friend...
I seem to remember being in a car with you in the not so distant past. Whilst driving you managed to hang out the window and scream at the driver ahead of us: "JESUS CH***T! DRIVE IN YOUR OWN FU**ING LANE YOU PIECE OF SH*T! READ THE FU**ING SIGN!!! GOD-DA**IT!!"
Ah, the good old days in the Dart.
Hope all is well.
I think that it is actually the law that you use your hand to signal when the turn signals are broken. Maybe the woman was tuning into an auto repair shop, who knows. If you want toake a survey of the 'asshat' drivers in the world, I think that this woman would be one of the very few to use her hand to signal. I think you're being a little harsh with your commentary.
You could rename the post: "Rarely do I see such an intelligent driver on the road," or something like that. Cheers.
Dear anonymous,
I'm sorry you feel I was being harsh. To help set the record straight let me point out the driver in question was pulling into a McDonald's, not a repair shop. And I did point out that she was making an attempt at signalling which was better than nothing at all.
My beef is this: if you know the turn signal is broken, why don't you get it fixed?
Yes, there are certainly more egregious ofenders of turn signal etiquette, but taht doesn't exonerate this individual.

I hear ya. good call. If you have time for a big mac, you have time to change a lightbulb.
I would suspect that this phenomenon (stupid drivers) is just a part of a much greater phenomenon: stupid people. Too much CNN, too little, reading, thinking, chilling, etc etc. That being said, stupid people have always been around, and they can be found all over the earth, even turining into McD's (!).
I managed to break the bracket holding my bicylcle (front) light. I will fix it with tape.
BTW, I think it's "Prost", rather than "Prossit", but I mean that's just how the German's pronounce it. If people understand "Prossit", no need to confuse them.
Prost!
It is pronounced "prost" but it is supposed to spelled with a schophus "s". English doesn't have on of these so it is usually translate with the double s. Looks like: prossit, pronounced: prost. You're crrect.
I agree that bad drivers are a symotem of stupid people in general as well. And I try not to be too hard on people. We all make mistakes from time to time, but some of these things are just too flagrant to disregard.
That's my two cents.
take care
